Shocking footage has emerged of the terrifying moment an out-of-control driver crashed into two police officers who were then rushed to hospital.
Chaotic scenes unfolded as officers attempted to stop a gray Toyota Hilux van inside the Star Casino car park on the Gold Coast on Wednesday night.
Officers heard loud screeching, screeching and acceleration coming from a vehicle inside the car park, according to a Queensland Police statement.
Officers approached the ute and ordered the driver to stop the vehicle.
Footage showed the moment an officer told the ute driver to “turn the car off” as he walked towards the vehicle.
The driver stopped momentarily before the vehicle collided with one of the officers and accelerated. courier mail reported.
The truck returned a short time later and struck the second officer’s hand before leaving the parking lot toward Casino Drive.
Police heard loud acceleration, screeching and acceleration coming from a vehicle before two officers approached the ute (pictured) inside the car park.
The officers were treated by paramedics for minor injuries and taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.
Police allege pedestrians were forced to jump to avoid danger after the vehicle veered onto the wrong side of the road.
The ute was last seen driving towards Logan.
Investigations into the incident continue as officers attempt to locate the vehicle and the suspect driver.
No arrests or charges have been filed so far.
