The Wiggles turned down a massive film offer that would have seen the original group reunite for the first time in more than a decade.

Founding members Anthony Field, Murray Cook, Jeff Fatt and Greg Page have been approached to star in the upcoming Australian action comedy Zombie Plane.

But after finding the offer initially attractive, the group decided to walk away from the film which will co-star Sophie Monk, American rapper Vanilla Ice and the film’s famous ‘tough guy’ Chuck Norris.

According to insiders, the original Wiggles turned down their chance to reunite because the film, which is currently being finished in Brisbane, was “too off-brand” for the children’s entertainers.

“(The film) is very tongue-in-cheek and the boys were flattered to be asked, but sadly the opportunity to see the originals together again has been lost,” a source said. Yahoo Lifestyle last week.

“They loved the script and the idea that was created for them and it would have been exciting to get the band back together, but the project just didn’t sit well with them.”

The Wiggles were formed in Sydney in 1991 by the four original members; only Anthony Field remains in the group today after Cook, Fatt and Page left in 2012.

Meanwhile, Australian singers Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Amy Shark will also reportedly appear in Zombie Plane.

Aboard a plane, the film’s stars play “fictional versions” of themselves.

The Hollywood Reporter trade newspaper announced the production last year and said it involved a secret government organization that uses “celebrities” as undercover agents. Their mission is to prevent a threat to all humanity.

The film’s plot centers on a zombie outbreak on a flight from Sydney to Los Angeles during which passengers must thwart marauders.

It also stars Home and Away hunk Dan Ewing, 37, and Neighbors veteran Teressa Liane, 35.

Fans can also expect a retro ’90s soundtrack and plenty of celebrity cameos.

The daring parody is co-directed by two Australian filmmakers, Lav Bodnaruk and Michael Mier.

It comes after Sophie Monk, 44, took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes footage of the action on set during filming.

In the clip, the blonde beauty is seen standing in the aisle of a plane next to a pair of severed feet in pantyhose, covered in blood from the stage.

“I wonder what brand the tights are,” Sophie jokes to her fans.

She also posted a video that captures her laughing with her co-star Vanilla Ice, 55, while teaching the Texas native some cheeky Australian slang.

“Take the p**s means you’re joking,” he tells the Ice Ice Baby hitmaker.
