ABC presenter Virginia Trioli was due to return to her popular Melbourne radio show on Monday after a three-month break, but suddenly pulled out due to a “long and complex summer of family illness”.
The Melbourne ABC Radio 774 presenter was due to return to the show this week, and her fill-in presenter, Ali Moore, welcomed Ms Trioli back to her regular timeslot at the start and end of her show on Friday.
“It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to be with you over the past few months,” Ms. Moore told listeners.
‘VT will be back here Monday in this chair.’
However, fans were left confused when the veteran host did not resume her position on Monday morning.
Melbourne ABC Radio 774 presenter Virginia Trioli was due to return to the show this week.
She explained her absence on Twitter.
“Some personal news: It’s been a long and complex summer of family illness, and my focus must be home for now,” the host wrote.
“To my wonderful ABC Melbourne Mornings audience, see you very soon, and many thanks to my colleagues and managers at ABC for your kindness and support.
Ms Trioli did not say when listeners might expect it to return to the airwaves, but The Australian’s Media Diary reported that it may not return until after Easter.
