Leaping onto a train station platform, a curious horse has caught the attention and baffled commuters in Sydney’s southwest.

The horse trotted onto the platform at Warwick Farm station in an attempt to escape the wild, wet weather just before midnight on Friday.

He was seen entering the train station from the car park and shortly afterwards police contacted Transport NSW to report a horse was on the platform.

In CCTV footage provided by Transport NSW, a train arrives at the station as the horse waits patiently for it to stop, but decides not to board.

The banter lasted about five minutes as the animal strolled across the platform before being captured and led to a float.

Transport NSW said in a statement that travelers should follow suit by staying behind the yellow line.

The horse, which did not decide to board the train, was rescued a short time later (pictured) after being captured and led to a carriage.
