A Woolworths menu from more than 50 years ago has sent customers into a frenzy over the low price of meals, prompting calls for the service to be restored.
A shopper uploaded a photo to Facebook on Tuesday of a Woolworths menu listing a variety of cooked meals available at its cafe in 1970.
“Former Woolworths cafeteria lunch menu from 1970,” she wrote in the post.

The cafe was a popular part of Woolworths in the 1950s and 1960s, before they eventually closed later.
The menu listed several options, including a lunch special that included baked macaroni and aged English cheese for just 99 cents.
Customers were also served coleslaw, greens and a buttered bagel.
They had the other option of choosing ice cream topped with chocolate sauce.
The diner also served baked meatloaf dinners, which included brown gravy, creamy whipped potatoes, and garden vegetables, for just 95 cents.
Customers can also choose to dine on roast beef with the same sides for $1.10.
Hundreds of shoppers said the menu image brought back fond memories of when they used to visit the cafe.
“Let the good old days return,” one wrote.
“Dinner was cheap back then,” added another.
Others were surprised by the low prices and said the items would cost customers much more today.
“My God, how things have changed,” one person said.
The cafe was a popular part of Woolworths stores in the 1950s and 1960s, and many shoppers expressed fond memories of visiting the cafe back then (stock image pictured).
“It’s pretty scary when you see the current prices,” another person wrote.
“Multiply the prices (by) 13-14 and it would be the same today,” added a third.
Some said the price of food served in the cafeteria would cost the same now as it did then.
‘Salaries were low beyond comparison. In 1970 he made 15 dollars a week!! So that was expensive for me,’ said one.
“Everything is relevant from wages paid then to wages paid today,” another person wrote.
The average full-time worker in Australia in 1975 earned an annual salary of $7,600, meaning they earned about $20 a week.
The average full-time adult today earns a weekly salary of $1,886.50 according to the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
