A Colorado man’s silver chain miraculously saved his life by blocking a bullet that hit his neck after an argument that ended in gunshots.
The Commerce City Police Department said the ‘imitation’ collar was only 10 millimeters wide, but it managed to deflect the .22-caliber bullet on Tuesday.
Police said the chain “is probably the only reason” the unidentified victim is still alive after the near-fatal altercation in Commerce City, about nine miles north of Denver.
Evidence photographs show a small portion of the jewelry stained red with blood and a mangled bullet embedded in the chain links.
Police said a suspect was arrested for attempted murder, but did not release his name.

‘The .22 caliber bullet was fired during an argument and would have ended up in the victim’s neck if it had not become lodged in the chain he was wearing.

“The suspect was arrested at the scene and faces charges of attempted murder.
‘Side note: We don’t know what kind of metal it is, but it’s probably not pure silver.
‘We look for it… and the silver is soft. So maybe think twice before doing an imitation. Simply incredible.’
The Commerce City Police Department said the ‘imitation’ collar was only 10 millimeters wide, but managed to lodge the .22 caliber bullet.
It comes a little more than a month after a Long Island man was saved from a shooting after a bullet hit him in his wallet.
Suffolk County police said the man was shot at an apartment complex in Coram on the morning of April 17 and, as a result, avoided injury.
“An unknown person fired multiple shots at a vehicle located at the intersection of Homestead Drive and Grant Court within the Homestead Village apartment complex,” the department said.
‘A bullet lodged in the wallet of a man who was inside the vehicle. The man was not injured.
Suffolk County Police told DailyMail.com that the wallet was in the man’s pocket, although it is unclear which one.
