While Dyson’s hair tools are definitely game-changers, they’re not exactly easy on the wallet. There is no shortage of brands on Amazon claiming to be ‘Dyson dupes’, a hair dryer has consistently received praise for giving the expensive styling device value for money.

You’ll still save if you upgrade to the Swift hair dryer, which is $139 (or 30 percent off its original $199 price tag) with the nozzle attachment or $160 for the kit that includes the styling concentrator, slick nozzle, and diffuser accessories.

We’re obviously big fans of Dyson’s Airwrap, Supersonic and Airstraight devices (and so are celebrity hairstylists Jen Atkin and Matthew Collins), and we’ve found the Laifen hair dryers to be excellent alternatives for those who only need the basic drying option. at a fraction of the air-powered technology company’s products, which start at $400 for the Supersonic Origin and go up to $599 for the multi-styler kit.

One happy customer writes, “It’s quieter than the Dyson my hairdresser uses,” while another commented, “I love how quickly my hair dries with this blow dryer. While Laifen’s Swift and Swift SE models do lose a little bit of motor power (the brushless motor runs at 105,000rpm with wind speeds of 21 and 22 meters per second respectively), we also found them to sound slightly quieter at 59dB. For comparison, Dyson says his hair tool’s V9 motor operates at 77 decibels and runs at 110,000 rpm with an airflow of 13 l/second. And at less than a pound, the Laifen hair dryers are ideal for travel.

Like the Dyson Supersonic, the Laifen hair dryer is equipped with a thermo-controlling microprocessor that monitors and adjusts the air temperature to ensure your locks are not exposed to and damaged by extreme heat, and it also delivers negative ions to keep your locks silky smooth and lint-free. The latest Swift model adjusts the heat up to 100 times per second, while the Swift SE does half that. (Dyson says the heat sensor adjusts more than 40 times per second.)

A tri-color LED ring light indicator displays temperature settings from cold to a maximum of 80 (from cold, warm to hot air). The Laifen devices also have a removable magnetic filter that keeps hair from getting caught in the air duct.
