It was at a Z-List launch party for reality show Geordie Shore last week that Katie Price kissed her on-again, off-again friend Kerry Katona. The resulting commotion was undoubtedly his intention.

Dressed in a skimpy pair of sequined black shorts, she laughed as she drunkenly jumped around the venue: the not exactly healthy Thai Square restaurant, near Trafalgar Square in London. In fact, viewers told me that he seemed “out of control” and that his display was “not exactly in keeping with the behavior of a 46-year-old” as he yelled at his fellow reality TV stars not to talk to the press.

And yet, none of this should surprise us. It was all very reminiscent of the Katie of yesteryear (or Jordan, as she was known then), who was very often the loudest person in the room. Jordan made sure she was the talk of any celebrity party for days, although the chatter about her afterwards was usually far from pleasant.

Now, however, the discourse is less petty and more worrying.

“He seemed to be out of control,” said a friend of hers who was also at the party. “Katie has the look of someone who is really worried and that’s very worrying.”

On Wednesday those fears increased not only among her family and friends, but also among her fans when she posted a new video on Instagram looking extremely thin.

The following day, Katie revealed that she has now been forced to undergo a non-surgical procedure to enhance her bum as it left it “flat”. She then shamelessly showed off her butt.

Filming herself in a beauty clinic, where she had just had her lips made up, Katie proudly revealed her plans.

‘Oh, he’s done it again!’ she said, rather strangely speaking about herself in the third person. ‘It’s closer to looking like a Bratz doll! She got her lips done at The Clinic Club. “I love it here, I’m obsessed with them here.”

Regarding her weight loss, Katie continued: “I’m so obsessed that even though I’ve lost a ton of weight, my butt is saggy now.” So no, I have to get my butt stuffed here. I can’t wait.’

Friends of Katie have contacted me to tell me how fearful they are for her future as her obsession with plastic surgery increases and even more operations are planned.

‘How many times can you receive general anesthesia?’ said one. ‘Next time could be the last because it could kill her. We are so worried that he may die soon, it’s horrendous.

“She’s so fragile, her body seems so fragile, you don’t know how much longer she can take.”

“It’s devastating – there are real fears he may not be with us for much longer.”

Two people who would give anything for Katie to lead a more normal life are two of her oldest children, Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, whom she shares with singer-turned-reality star Peter Andre, 51. .

Junior, who is forging his own career as a pop star, was also at the party held last week to mark Geordie Shore’s return to Paramount+ and posed on the red carpet as he arrived.

However, his presence didn’t exactly stop his wayward mother from behaving in her usual flamboyant manner, something he has become accustomed to as he has grown into a young man.

“He’s used to it,” a family friend reflected. Although: “He’s been shielded from a lot of this because he grew up with Pete.”

Because Katie and Peter, who have been at war since they split in 2008, couldn’t have more different parenting strategies, which has led to numerous clashes between the reality TV stars.

After meeting on ITV’s I’m A Celeb in 2004, the couple began dating and a year later Junior arrived. Three months after her birth, in September 2005, they married at Highclere Castle in Oxfordshire and Katie arrived in a horse-drawn carriage.

Back then, they were a cultural phenomenon. So much so that OK! paid them more than £1 million for the rights to their wedding photographs. magazine, and that issue remains one of the best-selling to date.

In June 2007, Katie gave birth to Princess, but just over two years later, she and Andre separated.

Katie began dating cage fighter Alex Reid, while Pete remained single and wanted to provide a stable home for their children.

Today he is married to a doctor named Emily and they have three children together. The couple are said to have been “super strict” with Junior and Princess, perhaps to compensate for how wild Katie has been.

‘Pete had to support them a lot because of his mother’s behavior. “It’s been worrying for him,” a friend said. “He and Katie don’t talk, but he greatly respects her being his mother.”

An associate of Katie points out that if she had been punished more harshly for some of her actions, perhaps she wouldn’t be as wild as she is now. Katie famously escaped prison twice, once in September 2021 when, after crashing her BMW, she was given a 16-week suspended prison sentence and banned from driving for two years for drink-driving. During that court appearance, the prosecutor said Price had five previous driving bans.

Then, the following June, she breached a restraining order blocking contact with her ex-husband Kieran Hayler’s fiancee, Michelle Penticost, and instead of jail she received an 18-month community order to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.

Some people close to Katie say they believe she has not learned the lessons of her past bad behavior and that this leniency in court is partly to blame.

“Katie has never had to face any consequences, she just gets away with it and hasn’t hit rock bottom yet,” a friend said.

“She seems to have gone through life without a care in the world.” But the fear is that one day something really bad will happen and then it will be too late.’
