Bunnings shoppers are raving about a ‘cool’ $11.59 item that’s ‘perfect’ for getting rid of flies during the summer.
Keeley Starling, from Perth, started installing Envirosafe fly traps in her backyard after noticing her outdoor space was overrun with pesky insects.
After leaving the traps outside for just three days, he was surprised to discover that the non-toxic bait had trapped dozens of flies inside the bottle.
“I’m about to show you something really nasty, but listen to me because you’re going to need it this summer with the amount of flies we’re getting,” Keeley said in a video.
“At least in my house, I don’t know why, but there are so many flies everywhere… I don’t know why, but it seems like this year they have doubled.”
In an effort to get rid of the flies, the nurse decided to try the traps after stumbling upon them at Bunnings.
Impressed with the product, Keeley wanted to show viewers the “before” and “after” results, starting with the bottle half filled with a green solution.
“So it’s just a powder and you mix it with water,” he explained.
Keeley Starling has raved about a ‘cool’ $11.59 Bunnings fly trap that’s ‘perfect’ for getting rid of flies during the summer.
“You’re supposed to leave it in the sun for two or three weeks.”
But he was surprised to discover that the bottle was almost half filled with dead flies.
“I’ve had this in my backyard for three days,” he said.
‘Look how many flies there are, it really stinks. But I’m telling you, it works, so go get one… We bought three more just because I hate flies.’
His video has been viewed more than 550,000 times and many agree that the product works wonders to scare away flies.
He began installing Envirosafe fly traps in his backyard after noticing his outdoor space was overrun with pesky insects.
Many said they liked the product, but noted that dead flies in the trap created an unpleasant odor.
“It’s very good, but it smells VERY bad,” said one.
‘Be careful, DON’T drop it. My dad dropped his and it smelled so bad it took him a long time to get rid of the smell,” another shared.
‘We poured it into a milk container and threw it in the trash. “It’s the only way to get rid of the stench,” one suggested.
Meanwhile, many warned that the trap needed to be emptied regularly.
“Clean it every couple of days or it gets full of worms,” one urged.
‘We made the fly trap but we forgot and left it for a week and it became infested with maggots at different parts of the life cycle. “I almost vomited,” another shared.
Buyers have given the product a five-star rating.
‘Excellent investment. Very impressed with this. I don’t have mosquito nets so this is ideal. There haven’t been any flies inside since I hung it outside a few days ago, so I’m very happy,” one praised.
‘It works wonderfully. But you have to clean it daily, otherwise you will literally throw up the smell,” another shared.
