Victoria Police released these photos of a group they want to talk to about an incident where a lifeguard was hit.

A young lifeguard was violently attacked by a group of teenage bullies after he reportedly warned them not to perform dangerous stunts near other swimmers.

The 19-year-old was on duty at the Casey ARC swimming pool in Narre Warren, southeast of Melbourne, when he was attacked about 5.50pm on Sunday.

It is understood he had previously spoken to the group of about eight teenagers about not performing pirouettes and other stunts near the swimmers.

The 19-year-old was then head-butted, kicked and punched by the group who fled the scene and remained at large.

The lifeguard, whose uniform was splattered with blood, was taken to Dandenong Hospital with injuries including bruises, cuts and scratches to his upper body.

He has since been discharged.

Victoria Police have released photographs of a group they believe can assist with investigations.

They are believed to have Middle Eastern appearance.
