Whoopi Goldberg was not impressed during Monday’s episode of The View when she was abruptly interrupted as she praised Robert Downey Jr. and Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s Oscar winners.
The 68-year-old shared her delight at the duo winning Best Supporting Actor and Actress as the Oscars music began to play, stopping the Sister Act star in her tracks as her co-host Sunny Hostin exclaimed: ‘Oh, they’re playing get off!’
Whoopi – who won an Oscar for her role in Ghost back in 1990 – was clearly annoyed as she lashed out at executive producer Brian Teta, telling him: ‘I’m not going’ and as the camera cut to him, he was seen gesticulating for her to hurry as he laughed nervously.
It was a pretty chaotic Oscars segment, as Ana Navarro also ruffled a few feathers when she made a questionable observation about Eva Longoria’s ‘t**ties’ live on air and left some viewers unimpressed when she made a joke about Hollywood- actor Will Smith and compared him to a dog.

When Sunny, 55, commented on the presence of dog Messi, who stars in Oscar-winning film Anatomy of a Fall, Ana said: ‘That dog was better behaved than Will Smith!’ referring to the 2022 ceremony, when Will went on stage and punched host Chris Rock after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
Ana didn’t stop there though, as she was pretty brutal when it came to sharing her thoughts on the red carpet looks from the 96th Academy Awards.
When Sunny complimented Wicked co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s pink and green dresses, Ana didn’t hold back, saying: ‘I hated it. I thought she (Cynthia) looked like an iguana and the other one (Ariana)… it looked like a tribute to cotton.’
Moments earlier, Sara Haines chided Ana when she praised her good friend Eva Longoria’s black dress, joking: ‘I don’t know where she got those s**ties because I know her and she doesn’t have… I know’ don’t know how it happened!’
Sara, 46, quickly chimed in, telling her: ‘I’m not sure you can say that…’ to which Sunny added: ‘Can you say that on TV?’ to which Sara replied, ‘No!’ while Alyssa Faraha Griffin giggled at the stock exchange.
Whoopi didn’t seem interested in the fashion chat, but she was keen to have her say on Robert, 58, who won best supporting actor for his role as Lewis Strauss in Oppenheimer – who picked up a total of seven awards on the night.
‘I just want to say to Robert Downey Jr., it’s about time. It’s damn time!’ Whoopi announced as the live studio audience applauded her comment.
‘He’s one of those actors who, in my opinion, should have had more of these already, but you know that’s the beauty and the rage part of the Oscars. People vote and he’s the one they voted for and I have to say I’m so excited for him and Miss Randolph too, it was wonderful to see her win.’
