As part of Brain Tumor Awareness Month, Whoopi, 68, and her co-host Sara Haines invited 15-year-old Mya Jackson to Thursday’s show with her mom, Tanya, and surprised the spunky teen with a meeting with his favorite singer. Sofia Carson.
In very emotional scenes, Mya, who was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2) when she was six, was seen hugging Sofia, 31, while Whoopi helped mother-of-three Sara wipe away tears with a tissue paper, but even the sister star of the act failed to maintain her composure and had trouble getting her words out towards the end of the segment.
