Whoopi Goldberg didn’t hold back when sharing her thoughts on Kai Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC) and urged voters to “not fall for it.”
Donald Trump’s 17-year-old granddaughter took the stage Wednesday night and told viewers he was “just a normal grandfather.”
However, The View host, 68, criticised the teenager’s moving speech, arguing it was a ploy to “humanise” Trump, particularly after Saturday’s assassination attempt.
“I know his grandson was aware of this and they’re trying to humanize (Trump) and change his mind about who this guy is,” Whoopi said on Thursday’s episode of the ABC talk show.
“Don’t fall for that.”

Kai, daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife, Vanessa, took the stage on the third night of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
She argued that the media was deliberately demonizing her grandfather, a common rhetoric pushed by the former president.
“The media makes my grandfather seem like a different person, but I know him as he is. He is very caring and loving, he really wants the best for this country,” the teenager said.
Trump’s eldest grandson, Kai, described him as “a normal grandfather.”
“He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking,” she said.
“He always wants to know how we’re doing in school. When I made the honor roll, he printed it out for his friends to tell them how proud he was of me.”
He then commented on Saturday’s assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, calling Trump an “inspiration.”
“A lot of people put my grandfather through hell, and he’s still standing,” she told thousands of cheering Republican delegates. “Grandpa, you are such an inspiration and I love you.”

Kai is the first of the former president’s grandchildren to comment on the assassination attempt.
Even before Kai’s stellar performance at the RNC convention, she had amassed a huge online following thanks to her reputation as perhaps the best golfer in the Trump clan.
Kai is also living every budding golfer’s dream, having recently played with US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau. As a child, she took a photo on the golf course with her grandfather and Tiger Woods.
The View host also reaffirmed her stance that President Joe Biden is fit to run for reelection.
“I don’t care how old you are,” he said passionately. “I don’t care if you can’t put two sentences together. If you do the work, then I’ll follow you because that’s what I’m looking for.”
Kai’s parents were married for 13 years before divorcing in 2018.
She is the eldest of Donald Jr. and Vanessa’s five children, which include Donald III, Tristan, Spencer and Chloe.
Kai is a year younger than his uncle, Barron Trump, who recently appeared with his father at a campaign rally on July 9 in Doral, Florida.
Even before her star-studded appearance at the Republican National Convention, Kai had already amassed a large online following thanks to her reputation as perhaps the best golfer in the Trump clan.
In March, Kai won the Women’s Club Championship at Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach.
Her impressive swing, her nearly 260-yard drive and her dedication to the sport helped her earn the position of varsity captain at the Benjamin School, a prestigious $37,000-per-year high school in North Palm Beach, from which she will graduate in 2026.
The avid athlete frequently chronicles her personal training sessions and rigorous gym routines online.
She is reportedly being recruited to play at the college level and her goal, she says, is to turn professional.
