The personal life of New York Yankees executive and former Mets general manager Omar Minaya has been rocked by tragedy following the death of his wife Rachel.
According to the The New York PostRachel Minaya was found dead in the couple’s New Jersey home on Saturday under mysterious circumstances.
Omar was not at home at the time of his death, a person briefed by the family confirmed, although suicide was ruled out as a cause.

Who was Rachel Minaya?
According to her LinkedIn Profile, Rachel Minaya was an interior designer who served as president at RMS Interior Design from 2012 to 2018.
It is believed that she was originally from New Jersey.
It is currently unclear how old Rachel, whose maiden name was Albright, was at the time of her death. Her husband, Omar, is 65.

Omar became baseball’s first Hispanic general manager when he took over the New York Mets in 2004.

Omar has worked for the New York Yankees as a senior advisor to general manager Brian Cashman since 2023.
