Sunrise usually welcomes guests of all shapes, sizes and genders every morning, but viewers were stunned when a furry guest burst onto the set on Wednesday.
Channel Seven’s breakfast TV show appeared to be having a bring your pet to work day behind the scenes when a dog got loose during a live broadcast.
In a blink of an eye, you’ll miss it, the tanned dog casually wandered around the studio behind fill-in hosts Monique Wright and Michael Usher at 6:41 a.m.
Mark Beretta had just finished covering the daily sports news when the camera returned to the main desk.
Everything seemed fine and the crew didn’t seem to notice anything strange happening on set as they talked about the recent Dakar Rally that took place in Saudi Arabia.
However, eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed a furry streak crossing the screen as someone’s dog passed behind the presenters and exited stage left.

Despite passing news anchor Amber Laidler’s chair on their way out, each of the anchors were the picture of professionalism as they pretended not to see the dog.
However, it appears presenter Monique, 51, did notice the dog, as moments before it appeared on screen she could be seen subtly reaching under her desk to pet it.
He quickly raised his hand as the camera cut to its next sports news coverage, and moments later the dog walked off the set.
The hosts did not address the dog’s unscheduled appearance, nor were there dog-related segments to explain the dog’s presence.
When asked for comment on the matter, Channel Seven informed Daily Mail Australia that the dog belonged to co-presenter Monique.
It’s not the only awkward moment to happen live on Sunrise in recent months, as a popular reporter was left blushing in December after an encounter with a teacher.
Katie Brown had an embarrassing moment when she mistook a teacher for a student during a live crossing at a school in western Sydney.
She could be seen moving among a large group of students who were enjoying a post-HSC celebration when the trouble occurred.
Breakfast TV show Channel Seven appeared to be having a bring your pet to work day behind the scenes when a dog got loose during a live broadcast.
Katie had just finished speaking to a student from St John Paul II Catholic College in Schofields about his HSC results when she touched the shoulder of a nearby woman.
‘Who do we have here?’ -Katie asked.
After the teacher identified herself as Mrs Canning, Katie cheekily asked her about her HSC results.
However, the teacher refused to play along and changed focus to highlight her student’s achievements.
‘I’m very proud of them. They did very well and worked very hard,’ he said.
Katie quickly recovered and said to the young teacher, “You are aging very well too, I mistook you for a student.”
