Joe Rogan shared who he voted for in previous elections and hinted at why Kamala Harris shouldn’t have dodged his show in a resurfaced podcast episode.
During a 2020 discussion with comedian Jimmy Dore on The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan said he had “always been” a progressive voter.
He told Dore: ‘I have never voted right in my life. Never. Never. I voted Democrat.’
Rogan specifically mentioned his fondness for Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard, as she was a Democrat before endorsing Donald Trump, but pointed out the one exception to his pattern.
He said: ‘Except for (voting) Independent. “I voted for Gary Johnson because he did my podcast.”
Joe Rogan revealed that he used to vote Democratic, with the only exception being Gary Johnson because he appeared on the show.
In the 2020 episode, Rogan hinted at why Kamala Harris didn’t get his vote after she snubbed him.
This single comment points out why Harris refusing to be on Rogan’s show may have cost him his vote and, even more influential, his endorsement.
During the Rogan-Dore episode, Dore mentioned to an unnamed high-ranking Democrat that he wouldn’t be coming on his podcast because his “career would be over.” Rogan assumed he was referring to Harris.
Doré laughed, but neither confirmed nor denied the statement.
Rogan chimed in and said, “Everyone keeps asking to be on my show, I have requests from all of them.”
The podcaster listed Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren and ‘Mayor Pete’ Buttigieg as some of the top politicians who asked to come on his show, but he turned them down.
Rogan, who previously expressed his dislike of Donald Trump, apparently did a 180-degree turn by endorsing the candidate just before the presidential election.
Comedian Jimmy Dore said an unnamed Democrat wouldn’t come on his show to preserve his reputation, and Rogan assumed it was Harris.
Rogan endorsed Donald Trump just before the election after previously expressing his disapproval of the future president.
The podcaster stated in 2022: ‘I am not a Trump supporter in any way.
“I don’t want to help you, I’m not interested in helping you.”
Two years later, Rogan’s views took a surprising turn when he welcomed the Republican candidate onto his show after rampant fan speculation.
He publicly endorsed the future president after an argument with Elon Musk.
“If it wasn’t for him (Musk), we’d be screwed,” Rogan wrote in X just hours before the polls opened.
“He presents what I believe is the most compelling case for Trump you will ever hear, and I agree with him every step of the way.”
‘For the record, yes, that is an endorsement of Trump. Enjoy the podcast.’
He sat down with Trump for a three-hour interview and tried to do the same with Harris.
But Rogan revealed that scheduling issues and conflicts over how long and where the interview would take place ultimately prevented it from happening.
Donald Trump also sat down with Rogan just before the election, and Rogan subsequently endorsed Trump for the White House.
He explained that he hoped to use the interview as a means to get to know the candidates better.
Rogan said: ‘My whole goal with her and him is just to talk. Just have a conversation like a human being. You discover things about people. At least you have an idea of them.
The Joe Rogan Experience is Spotify’s most popular podcast, with over 14 million subscribers. Rogan also has nearly 18 million followers on YouTube and his videos routinely receive millions of views.
Trump’s appearance on the show is credited with his ability to win over young voters.
The unnamed Arizona State University student told MSNBC’s Gadi Schwartz that the vice president’s refusal to appear on the popular show ended up deciding his vote.
Rogan said Harris was in talks about appearing on his popular show, but declined to travel to his studio or sit down for the usual three-hour interview.
“We’ve actually heard a lot about Rogan’s podcast,” Schwartz said. ‘A while ago we were talking to two guys.
“One of them said he was undecided, when Kamala didn’t go to Joe Rogan’s podcast, that’s what influenced his vote, he ended up voting for Trump.
‘He said he was open to listening to Kamala on the podcast and when she didn’t, it wasn’t necessarily all the problems. He didn’t seem like a real person because he couldn’t speak for a long period of time. ‘
