EE announced earlier this year that it would be testing its 5G mobile network at Glastonbury as part of its technology tests.
EE has said it will install five temporary masts on the Worthy Farm site, allowing festivalgoers to connect to 2G, 3G, 4G and new 5G networks.
Pete Jeavons, marketing and communications director of EE and BT, said at the time: “Smartphones have become a must-have for the festival, as we've seen every year with more and more data being consumed at Glastonbury Festival.
& # 39; As the long-standing technology partner at this iconic event, we want to build a network that is powerful enough to cope with this huge demand.
& # 39; With the introduction of 5G this year, we can test this new technology at Worthy Farm and make history as the first 5G-connected festival in the UK. & # 39;
The mobile network has also launched the official Glastonbury app for 2019, which will provide participants with the latest updates and news.
It can also be used to create personalized setups using an interactive planning tool and to connect to BBC iPlayer to enjoy sets of top players.
