The Chicago White Sox have announced that relief pitcher Liam Hendriks will officially return to the active roster on Monday after his battle with cancer.
While undergoing treatment for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Hendriks missed spring training as well as the first two months of the MLB season.
But since revealing he was cured of cancer in early April and confirming later that month he was in remission, Hendriks has found the strength to try and get back on the pitch.
“So far I have a good health record,” Hendriks said earlier this month. “I am currently in remission.”
“As soon as I found out about regular processing times, I thought, ‘OK, how can I beat it? “, He said in May. ‘It was those days on the couch, not being able to move much [after chemo]those were the days when you had to dig deep and find that positive mental attitude.
