Police officer Ashley Wildey is mourning the loss of his fiancee Dawn Singleton.

The grieving police officer whose fiancée died in the Westfield Bondi Junction stabbing is still grappling with the tragedy a week on.

NSW Police officer Ashley Wildey went to the scene to help colleagues last Saturday and was told his future wife was one of the victims.

Dawn Singleton, 25, daughter of billionaire advertising guru John Singleton, was among six innocent bystanders stabbed to death by Joel Cauchi, 40.

She was going to marry her high school sweetheart, Mr. Wildey. in the coming months and was shopping for makeup for her upcoming wedding when her life ended tragically.

Friends and police colleagues rallied around a devastated Mr Wildey and have barely left his side in the last week.

While it’s still early, his friends said he’s a “tough kid” and they hope he eventually returns to the force.

“His police colleagues have been very, very good: the guys brought him burgers, fries and Coca-Cola and stayed with him, talking and making sure he knows he has support,” said a close family friend. The Daily Telegraph.

‘They don’t want to lose it. He is very good at his job.

‘He has always wanted to help people. He is young and I know that he has already helped solve some cases.

The friend added that Wildey visited Singleton’s mother, Julie, on Wednesday to pay his respects.

In the days before her death, Dawn purchased her wedding dress and began sending “save the date” invitations to loved ones and friends ahead of the special day.

The venue had just been booked and she had hired the wedding planners used by Kyle Sandilands for his nuptials.

It was previously reported that Wildey knew his fiancée was in Westfield at the time and desperately tried to call her en route before colleagues confirmed his worst fears.

Australian fashion powerhouse White Fox Boutique led tributes to Ms Singleton, where she worked as the company’s e-commerce assistant.

“Dawn was a sweet, kind-hearted person who had her whole life ahead of her,” the company wrote on Instagram.

‘She was really amazing. We are all truly devastated by this loss.

‘We send our deepest condolences to his partner, the Singleton family and his friends. She will always be remembered as part of the White Fox family.”

Also killed were Ashlee Good, 38, a mother of two, Jade Young, 47, Pikria Darchia, 55, Chinese national Yixuan Cheng, 27, and security guard Faraz Tahir, 30.

Six of the 12 injured remain in hospital in stable condition, including Good’s nine-month-old daughter Harriet.

Thousands of people are expected to attend a candlelight vigil on Bondi Beach on Sunday from 5.30pm.
