A New Zealand woman has revealed her horror at the dating scene in Australia, comparing Australian men to “immature teenagers” who “don’t make an effort” to get dates.

Annaliese, from New Zealand, was used to a certain level of dating when she moved to the Sunshine Coast.

“I live in Australia now and (the dating culture) blew me away,” she said. ‘In my experience in New Zealand, the guys try hard and get after you.

‘They make you feel great and do little acts of service that make you feel accomplished and great. In Australia, everyone is handsome, but these guys only have their looks to offer and not much else.

Elle, from Sydney, recently echoed that the dating scene has “gone wrong” in that there are a lot of great women looking to commit, but men aren’t looking for a long-term relationship.

Annaliese, from New Zealand, was used to a certain level of dating when she moved to the Sunshine Coast.

The singleton said she has noticed that Sydney men are more superficial, don’t put any effort into dating and move from one woman to another when things aren’t “easy”.

Annaliese added: ‘To be honest, the boys act like teenagers. They’re so immature. They look like a man, but inside they’re 15.’

She revealed that she has been on several “okay” dates where the man took her out to dinner but didn’t make more of an effort.

‘That’s all they expect: they do one thing and then it’s all up to you. It’s crazy to be a woman.

“(A man’s) biology is to chase a woman and chase a woman, but the guys here always ask when you’re going to go with them or when you’re going to visit them.

‘I’ve never met him, why would I go to him first? I’ve never done that in my life and I don’t know what kind of girls they attract who do that.’

Many Australian women also shared several dating apps that keep them away from men.

“When they put ‘first rounds with you’ on their profiles, just no, there won’t be any first rounds, period,” one said.

“They told me ‘if you don’t look like the photos, you’re paying until you do,'” another noted.

Some shared their experiences with foreign men.

‘I went on a date in Australia with a New Zealander, he paid for everything (I offered) and he made me feel special, we knew I wasn’t going anywhere, that he was coming home, but he was a good guy! ‘said a woman.

“I dated a New Zealander and all I can say is they treated me like a queen,” wrote another.

Several men shared their opinion on the matter.

‘I think it’s the current way of dating in general. “Apps have ruined the experience,” said one.

“I’m only interested in girls who can take me shopping and on vacation,” added another. “It works both ways.”
