An Australian fashion label has run afoul of fans after sharing an ’embarrassing’ look at the department store – but many have jumped up to defend the company.
Georgia Contos, co-founder of White Fox Boutique, videotaped her visit to the brand’s warehouse, showing piles of orders waiting to be shipped to shoppers.
However, viewers were shocked by the amount of plastic packaging and clothing that many claimed would be “worn once before ending up in landfill.”
‘What we currently process per day. We never normally see it visually because we have multiple pick-ups per hour. Crazy!’ Georgia captioned the clip posted to her Instagram Stories.
The businesswoman and influencer wandered past hundreds of Australia Post bags, each containing dozens of clothing parcels ready to be shipped to customers.

She also shared a photo of herself and a worker standing on top of one of the heaps as they smiled and waved their hands in the air.
Many accused the brand of being a “fast fashion” company, while others questioned how much plastic packaging was used on the packages.
Instagram Stories are only visible for 24 hours; However, watchdog account Influencer Updates AU re-shared the clip, sparking a wave of outrage.

‘Nobody needs that many clothes. It is an insight into waste and privilege,” wrote one harsh critic.
“This video actually represents what our landfills look like with cheap disposable clothes,” another agrees.
“This is actually terrifying,” a third commented, and a fourth quipped, “This isn’t the flex they thought it would be.”

Not everyone was mad at Georgia’s post, though, as one laughed, “Yeah, look, I think all of us ladies went a little hard on the EOFY warehouse sales.”
“I don’t get it, what’s so bad about it?” asked a second, as someone else pointed out, “People rave about Kmart dupes, but fling this!” Hypocrites.’
“Well, people are obviously buying their stuff and they’re rich and we’re not,” one person commented.
