Fans are asking about the whereabouts of famous reality TV star Julie Chrisley after the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) revealed that she is no longer in their custody.
The discovery was made last week, when a Reddit user posted a screenshot of the agency’s website showing how the former Atlanta resident, who was convicted of financial crimes alongside her husband Todd in 2022, was no longer “in BOP custody.”
That remains the case after the U.S. Marshals Service said Thursday that the 51-year-old woman was in its custody while she awaits further sentencing in federal court.
The agency is responsible for transporting federal prisoners, though their whereabouts remain unknown. There is a federal prisoner transfer center in Atlanta, Georgia, and Chrisley is due in court on Sept. 25.
It remains unclear why The Chrisley Knows Best star was placed in BOP custody so early, and BOP declined to provide location information due to “security or privacy” concerns.

“Incarcerated individuals who were previously in FBOP custody and who have not completed their sentence may be released from FBOP custody for a period of time for court hearings, medical treatment, or other reasons,” a spokesperson said.
The office’s inmate locator still shows the convicted fraudster was on May 7, 2028.
His location, as of Sunday morning, reads ‘Not in BOP custody.’
Her daughter Savannah, who starred alongside her incarcerated parents and recently appeared at the Republican National Convention, spoke about the couple’s criminal case on her podcast Tuesday but did not mention her mother’s whereabouts.
During a July episode, she revealed how the heat at Julie’s Kentucky prison had caused her mother to become “physically ill.”
‘In the visiting room, thank God, there is air conditioning,’ Savannah said of the alleged prison conditions at the FMC (Federal Medical Center) in Lexington,
‘But outside the visiting room, there is no air conditioning.
‘The heat index was 105, 110 and those are the conditions Mom was living in, those conditions with absolutely no air.
“And it can be 100 degrees inside the building,” the 27-year-old continued.

Both sentences have since been reduced, after an appeals court determined that a judge at the 2022 trial miscalculated them. Julie’s sentence,
‘She literally said she got physically sick because she was so hot.
“There are women who suffer from heat exhaustion and faint, but there are service dogs who have air conditioning,” Savannah said.
‘None of this makes sense to me.
“It’s so inhumane that you can’t invent anything. And it’s hard.”
Delivering his comments days before he appeared at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee to criticize the Biden administration over the jailing of his parents, he added: “Mom is super excited about the visit because she got to be in an air-conditioned room.
“It makes me realize how much we take for granted.”

Then, in June, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned Julie’s sentence because there was insufficient evidence linking her to the financial crimes the feds had said she committed before 2007.
The court still upheld the lower court’s guilty verdict for the party, paving the way for Julie to be sentenced again by the lower courts this month.
Meanwhile, patriarch Todd still has to serve the length of his sentence, now 10 years, for defrauding banks with fraudulent loans and conspiring to commit fraud against the IRS through January 2033.
At the time of writing, he will not be sentenced again.
They both made a name for themselves on Chrisley Knows Best, which premiered in 2014.
The film follows Todd, a self-made millionaire living in Atlanta, and the family’s various exploits.
The case ended abruptly in 2023 following the couple’s conviction, which came after an exhaustive investigation by the Justice Department.
Julie’s hearing is still scheduled for September 25, where she will receive a new sentence for bank fraud and tax evasion.
