The Harry Potter child actors have had a very different fate since the final movie, Deathly Hallows Part 2, hit theaters in 2011.
The epic series The Witches has taken in more than £6 billion at the box office and stars like Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) have finally been in the spotlight.
Daniel landed the lead role in The Woman In Black, Robert appeared in music videos with singer Ed Sheeran, while Emma gained more fame from her roles in Beauty And The Beast and Little Women.
But some of the more enigmatic characters — and where they ended up — might shock you.
A new Harry Potter series – which will make each book a season – has been announced on HBO Max, MailOnline is taking a deep dive into what happened to the films’ original cast.
From arrests for cannabis possession to Hollywood fame, many of the actors are now unrecognizable from their days at Hogwarts.
Vincent Crabb – played by Jamie Waylett
Crabbe and Joel were friends with Harry’s long-term archenemy and rival, Draco Malfoy.
A member of the Slytherin house, the bully Crabbe is portrayed as cunning and mean – yet stupid and greedy at the same time, coming from a long line of dark wizards.
Key moments involved Harry and Ron taking a multi-juice potion to impersonate them in the Chamber of Secrets to get information from Draco.
In The Deathly Hallows, Crabbe accidentally kills himself after setting fire to the Room of Requirement.
And actor Jamie, now 33, has a turbulent history since the show — which began during filming.
He was replaced in the latter film after he was arrested in 2009 for growing marijuana in his family home, and later pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and possession of a knife.
In 2012, he was arrested for taking part in the London riots the previous year for “violent disorder, publishing an article with intent to destroy or damage property, and receiving stolen goods”.
With Crabbe being his only known acting role, Jamie has now turned to appearing in a Cameo—where fans pay for a short, personal message from a celebrity—to earn money.
He charges £160 per video message.

Then and Now: Jamie Waylett, 33, played Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter saga (depicted in movies and in court in 2011)

Different times: Jamie now charges £160 for a cameo appearance and hasn’t landed any new acting roles
Dudley Dursley – played by Harry Melling
Harry’s very spoiled cousin Dudley, the son of his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon have been causing difficulties for the budding wizard since the beginning of the Philosopher’s Stone.
Dudley was overweight and lazy, scaring Harry out of jealousy – until magic became involved, such as when Hagrid gave him a pig’s tale because he made fun of Harry’s birthday cake.
Actor Harry Melling, 34, now seems unrecognizable and has scored high-scoring roles, like in Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit as Harry Beltik.
Harry, who also starred in The Pale Blue Eye and The Old Guard, spoke about his weight loss with The Independent in December.
He said: ‘I went to drama school, lost some weight and that’s it. to me!’
He added that he doesn’t keep in contact with his Harry Potter co-stars, because he didn’t spend much time with them on set.

Draco Malfoy – played by Tom Felton
Tom, 35, played “bad boy” Draco Malfoy – the son of the Death Eater Lucius. .
In the early films, the focus was on small rivalries between Harry and Draco, for example in Quidditch, but his character later became more complex due to Draco’s loyalty to Voldemort, with a hint of a redemption arc.
Draco recently went viral on TikTok, where fans edited themselves into scenes with the beloved character.
For years fans have been wishing Tom and Emma Watson – who plays Hermione Granger – would become an item, despite their characters’ dislike for one another on the show.
Emma Watson once admitted she had a crush on Tom when he started shooting Harry Potter.
In 2019, the couple was photographed together, with Tom showing Emma how to play the guitar while she was sitting in her pajamas.
In his October 2022 diary, Tom wrote about his “secret love” for his co-star, admitting that “my girlfriend at the time knew there was something unspoken between us.”
However, the two never confirmed the existence of a love relationship.
Jade dated sweetheart Olivia Gordon — who played his wife in the final scenes of The Deathly Hallows — from 2008 to 2016.
Tom has also attempted a music career, releasing his EP YoOHoO again in 2021.
However, he did find some success with the single If You Could Be Anywhere, which has amassed nearly 12 million streams.
He has continued to appear on television and film and made his theater debut in May 2022 in the 2:22 A Ghost Story on the West End.

Cedric Diggory – played by Robert Pattinson
Robert Pattinson, 36, has perhaps achieved the biggest success since his Harry Potter days, achieving worldwide fame after his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga.
The actor has only appeared in one Harry Potter movie, as the ill-fated Cedric Diggory, with whom Harry competes in the Triwizard Tournament.
Poor Cedric, Harry’s rival for Cho Chang’s affections, comes to a sticky end after the final round when a Portkey takes them to a cemetery where Lord Voldemort is waiting.
Despite earning millions for his role as vampire Edward Cullen, Robert has always shown disdain for the role, once saying books should never be published.
He got into a high-profile on/off relationship with co-star Kristen Stewart, who played Bella in the saga during filming.
Kristen’s affair with Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders was exposed through lewd photos in the press and the couple broke up for good in 2013, leaving fans devastated.
Since then, Rob has starred in The Batman (2022) and has been dating singer and Daisy Jones and The Six star Suki Waterhouse since 2018. The couple lives together in London.

Ginny Weasley – played Bonnie Wright
Weasley’s youngest brother – and only daughter – Ginny has been crushing on Harry since the first film, with the pair finally reuniting in The Half Blood Prince.
Fans have long criticized her character in the movie — known in the books for being spunky, strong, and excellent at Quidditch — for looking awkward, particularly in romantic scenes with Harry.
Bonnie, 32, now owns her own film production company, BoBonLumiere, where she produces short films.
She is also known for her environmental activism, including being an ambassador for the charities Greenpeace and Lumos and even publishing a book full of tips for saving the environment – Go With Kind: Actionable Steps to Care for Yourself and the Planet.
In March 2022, Bonnie revealed on her Instagram that she had married her longtime boyfriend, Andrew Lokoko.
She was previously engaged to Jamie Campbell Bower, who starred as young Gellert Grindelwald in The Deathly Hallows Part One, but they divorced in 2012.

Cho Chang – played by Katie Leung
Ravenclaw Cho Chang was Harry’s first crush – and his first kiss.
She dated Cedric Diggory in The Goblet Of Fire, declining a nervous Harry’s invitation to the Yule Ball, but warmed to Harry after Cedric’s death.
In Order Of The Phoenix, she was sobbing through a kiss with Harry, but any romance is abandoned in the bud after she betrays Dumbledore’s Army.
Since then, Scottish actress Katie Leung, 35, has starred as Caitlyn in the animated series Arcane and Ash in the sci-fi series The Peripheral on Amazon Prime.
Katie has now cut her signature locks and in January revealed that she has a son, Wolf.
