Scarlett Johansson was taken on a trip down memory lane as she was questioned about her first husband, Ryan Reynolds, when she spoke to Gwyneth Paltrow on the Goop podcast this week.
The 38-year-old Black Widow star couldn’t contain her laughter as Gwyneth, 50, said she forgot all about the star’s marriage to the Deadpool hunk — and she’s now married to Blake Lively.
Ryan, 46, and Scarlett were married for two years after tying the knot in 2008 and then divorcing in 2011. She later admitted that she “didn’t have a real understanding of marriage” at the time as she was only 23 years old.
– You’ve been married twice? three times?’ asked Gwyneth Scarlett, who confirmed it was the latter.
Then Gwyneth gushed excitedly: “Oh that’s right! I forgot you were married to Ryan Reynolds! Goals!”
“He is a good man!” Scarlett Johansson laughs when asked about her first husband Ryan Reynolds — as Gwyneth Paltrow admits she forgot she was an item; Photo in June 2010
With a background laugh, Scarlett replied, “Yes! We haven’t been married for a long time…” As Gwyneth puts it, “It still counts!”
“We love good Ryan Reynolds in our house,” Gwyneth continued, while Scarlett’s famous husky voice continued to laugh, concluding the topic with, “He’s a good guy!”
She then talked about her current husband, actor Colin Jost, and gave insight into what makes her work.
“I didn’t know what I wanted or needed from another person,” Scarlett said.
I never realized, “Oh, it’s really important to me — I need to be with someone who is compassionate.”
She revealed about their relationship, saying, “This is a key trait that has to be present.”

Third Husband: Scarlett also opened up about her marriage to actor Colin Jost, giving insight into what makes it work
Johansson added on the podcast, “Understanding what are those basic things that you need in a partner is a must, I think — for longevity, anyway.”
“I think locating these things was a game-changer for me,” Losley said, referring to her past relationships.
Scarlett and her husband, Colin, 40, married in October 2020.
The longtime artist was married to Ryan from 2008 to 2011, and later to Romain Dauriac from 2014-2017.
The New York native is a mom of two — daughter Rose, 8, with Dauriac, and son Cosmo, 20 months, with Jost.
She said that with her current husband I was finally able to step back and respect myself enough to figure out what those (basic) things were and deal with them, you know? This was a life lesson.
The Hollywood fixtures also touched on their careers during the chat.
Scarlett opened up about working as she admitted, “(There’s) always this fear, I think, as an actor, where you think, ‘Oh, I’m not going to work after this.'” “

The opening: The 38-year-old Marriage star appeared on Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop podcast this week, gawking at her relationship
Paltrow agreed, replying: Doesn’t everyone feel like that every time anyway? It’s just like, you never know what’s coming! “
And speaking of social media, the Lucy star said of Instagram, “I just feel like it’s not me in the first place.”
“I have to protect myself,” she explained. “I am very sensitive.”
Johansson doubled down on comments she made about the app earlier this month while on the Skinny Secret Podcast.

Past Love: The bombshell was married to Romain Dauriac from 2014-2017
“I’m honestly too weak to have social media,” she noted at the time.
My ego is very fragile. I can’t handle it. My mind is very fragile. I am like a delicate flower. I have enough anxiety.
Scarlett described the experience of using the photo-sharing platform once for three days.
When I started to realize that I spent 20 minutes looking at someone’s Instagram page that I worked with a friend of mine — I now know you have a bull, two daughters, and live in Burbank — I was like, I just wasted 17 minutes of time.
“Now I feel like I have to move to California, get this specific dog and change my life in all these ways,” she recalls.
I felt so bad, like I was missing this random person’s life. I can not do it. I am very fragile. I worry a lot about other things.
