Wheel of Fortune viewers couldn’t stop laughing at a contestant’s incorrect answer Wednesday night, which was so funny that even outgoing host Pat Sajak screamed in disbelief.

Ahead of the long-serving host’s final Friday episode, a hilarious mistake occurred when player Nonie took on the food and drink category.

Having landed an impressive \$3,500 wedge, he was tasked with choosing a letter to complete the puzzle, which read: ‘S_PER_OO_ SMOOTHIE’.

After correctly selecting ‘D’ to form ‘S_PER_OOD SMOOTHIE’, she decided she was ready to take a chance on guessing the word.

“I’d like to figure it out, Pat,” he said.

Wheel of Fortune player Nonie made viewers laugh for her incorrect answer.

Nonie had been presented with a food and drink riddle when she confidently announced her guess.

‘What do you have?’ Pat asked, and Nonie confidently replied, “A great shake.”

The surprised host immediately groaned “no,” and added. ‘Very sorry.’

Pat then invited fellow contestant JP to try it, and after landing on the \$700 wedge, he correctly guessed the letter ‘F’ to form the word ‘superfood shake’.

Viewers were hysterical over the mistake as they affectionately mocked Nonie for the mistake.

“I can’t stop laughing, I’m so sorry, it’s too funny,” one person wrote on X.

Another said: ‘Have you ever had a smoothie so good you could call it SUPER GOOD?’

“Not ‘super GOOD smoothie,'” a third wrote alongside a sea of laughing and crying emojis.

Others pointed out that it was an easy mistake to make, with one writing: “Honestly, I probably would have guessed it myself haha.”

Pat Sajak was heard crying in disbelief during Wednesday night’s episode.

Viewers were hysterical over the mistake as they affectionately mocked Nonie for the error.

Earlier this week, Pat sat down with her daughter Maggie Sajak to reveal why she’s leaving the beloved game show.

Maggie, 29, who serves as the show’s social media correspondent, asked: “What made you decide that this is the right time to leave the show?”

“I’ve always said, you’ve heard me say this dozens of times: I’d rather be gone a couple years early than too late,” Pat responded.

‘Could I still do it? Yes. I think I could for a while. (But) there are also other things in life that we would like to do.’

He continued: ‘I’m enjoying this last year. It’s been a fantastic 40 years. I’m looking forward to whatever comes.”

While Pat has said he is open to new projects, he is looking forward to the simple life.

“I’m happy if it means I’ll continue doing my crossword puzzles and playing with my grandchildren,” she told her daughter, before adding, “Hint, hint.” No pressure.’

Concluding the talk, Maggie said: ‘The show means a lot to us. It has been a great gift and you have turned what could have been simply an executioner into a cultural phenomenon.

“So thank you for these incredible 40 years,” he added, as he began to choke up.

Pat recently spoke about why she decided to leave Wheel of Fortune after more than 40 years.

He spoke about his tenure in an interview with his 29-year-old daughter Maggie.

Pat then stood up to give her daughter, who was visibly overcome with emotion, a hug.

The outgoing host will be replaced by Ryan Seacrest after his final episode on Friday, while his co-host Vanna White will remain on the show.

Following his departure, Pat will remain involved with Wheel of Fortune for another three years as a consultant, according to Sony Pictures Television executive vice president of game shows Suzanne Prete.

Ryan recently spoke about his next role, a position he will take on in September. He will also serve as a consulting producer for the show.

Speaking about his co-star Vanna, he told E! News: ‘Of course, standing next to Vanna, she’s a legend.’ She is an icon.

The longtime host has hosted the show since 1981, but last June announced he would be retiring after season 41.

Ryan Seacrest will take over Pat’s role as host when the new season arrives in September.

“We spent a little time filming some promos for the next season, and she’s down to earth. She’s exactly what you’d expect.

‘It’s very exciting to think about being on that set. I have watched the show for so many decades. “I’m a fan of the show and the game is the star.”

Pat announced that she would be leaving Wheel of Fortune on June 12, 2023, after the show’s 41st season ended.

‘Well, the time has come. “I have decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be our last,” he stated.

‘It has been a wonderful journey and I will have more to say in the coming months. Thank you very much to all.’

Pat began hosting Wheel of Fortune on December 28, 1981, replacing Chuck Woolery, who was the host from the show’s premiere in 1975 until he left over a salary dispute.

Vanna joined the show in 1982 after original host Susan Stafford left to become an aid worker.

Last September he extended his contract for two years, until the 2025-26 season.

The new signing came after she had been locked in a “stubborn” stalemate with ABC bosses as she fought for a pay rise, having gone years without one.

Wheel of Fortune was created by Merv Griffin and is the longest-running syndicated game show in the US.
