Wheel of Fortune star Vanna White has revealed how long she plans to stay working on the popular game show following the impending departure of her longtime co-host, Pat Sajak.
After news broke in June 2023 that Sajak, 77, would be retiring after hosting more than 7,500 editions since 1981, White, 67, admitted that he also thought about leaving the show, but has since revealed that he is not. ready to say goodbye. and she has signed a new two-year contract.
When asked how long he thinks he will stay during an interview with Television Insider, White responded: ‘I don’t know. When I found out Pat was retiring, I thought maybe I should retire too, but I’m not ready!’
‘We’ll see towards the end of those two years how I feel. “I thank God because after all these years I still love my job,” he added, before admitting that he “can’t describe” how he feels about his retirement.
‘I feel happy for him. I can’t imagine doing the show without him after 41 years. I summarize it as (like) reading a good book, it always has to end. “This was the best book I’ve ever read,” the mother of two gushed.

Vanna admitted she thought about quitting after co-host Pat Sajak announced she was leaving.
Recalling her first day on Ferris Wheel in 1982, White said: “I remember being extremely nervous. It was hard for me to even speak, my mouth was shaking with nerves because I was saying, ‘I can’t believe this is happening.’ “I’m on a television show.”
When asked what helped him get through it, he revealed: ‘Pat. (He said:) “Calm down, everything will be fine.” I was just a little girl from North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, who wanted to be on television since I was 10 years old. He made me feel comfortable in front of a camera. He was my teacher.
White went on to reveal his “best memories of Pat” and said, “I don’t think there’s anything that (he and I) haven’t talked about in 8,000 shows.”
‘We’ve traveled around the world together, we’ve watched our children grow up together, we’ve thrown pies in each other’s faces.
“He’s so funny, I love him like a brother.” God, I’ve known him longer than anyone, we’ll be friends forever.
Sajak’s final episode hosting Wheel of Fortune will air June 7 before Ryan Seacrest takes over as host.
Seacrest, 49, recently spoke about his upcoming role as host of Wheel of Fortune, which will begin in September, and will also see him serve as a consulting producer.
‘Of course, standing next to Vanna, she is a legend. She’s an icon,” she said. MY! News when asked if he was excited about his new job.
Vanna and Pat have been working together on the show since the early 1980s.
Vanna admits that it was Pat who made her feel “comfortable in front of a camera” when she first joined the game show in 1982.
Ryan Seacrest will appear on Pat’s shows this September as the new host of Wheel of Fortune.
“We spent a little time filming some promos for the next season, and she’s down to earth. She’s exactly what you’d expect.
He continued, “It’s so exciting to think about being on that set. I’ve watched the show for so many decades. I’m a fan of the show and the game is the star.”
White also had nothing but good things to say about his new co-host.
“He was very nice and said, ‘No one is going to replace Pat, I’m not trying to replace Pat. I am delighted to be able to work with you and will do whatever it takes. Please Teach ‘All I Need to Know,’ so it was really nice,” he said of Seacrest.
