WhatsApp is rolling out a new shareable conversations feature that lets you jump into group conversations after they’ve started, Facebook’s company announced Monday. The new feature means you can join a conversation with your friends and family when you’re ready, just like you can now with a Zoom or Google Meet group conversation. Given the huge popularity of WhatsApp, this could be a useful feature for many people who communicate through the messaging service.
You can get an idea of how the call transfer interface works in the image below – it looks like all you need to do is tap a join button.
There is also a new call information screen so you can see who is currently on a call and who has been invited but not yet joined. Participating conversations are still encrypted end-to-end.
The new joinable calls feature will be rolled out from Monday.
