Whatever happened to Fiona Horne? Def FX lead singer is keeping a low profile after ditching life in Hollywood to continue practising witchcraft – and you will never guess where she is

Fiona Horne rose to national stardom in the ’90s as the lead singer and frontwoman of the Australian rock group Def FX.

The rocker, 57, left her life in the spotlight more than a decade ago to pursue multiple career paths.

After her time in the band from 1991 to 1997, Fiona became a “white witch”, publishing several books on witchcraft, as well as a professional pilot in the Caribbean.

Before that, the singer appeared in Playboy and FHM.

Now, Fiona is loving her new life as a “full-time resident” in Egypt, where she offers “curated and personalized intimate experiences” exclusively for women.

She also has several passions, such as dancing, yoga and freediving.

She briefly returned to Australia in 2023, when Def FX reunited for an east coast tour, performing alongside female-fronted bands in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

In her memoir, published in 2017, Fiona said she was sexually abused by a family member as a child and later struggled with fame and alcoholism, but wanted to “reinvent” herself as a pilot.

After separating from her husband Jeff, when he left her for another woman, she fell into alcoholism, but soon sobered up and explored her passion for flying.

Horne, who is also a firefighter, admitted that over the years training to become a pilot was difficult as he didn’t have money to eat, but he is now in a good place.

“I worked four jobs for three years, slept in my car, ate food from other people’s fridges and leftover pizza from flight school seminars,” Fiona said.

Elsewhere in her memoir, titled The Naked Witch, Fiona claimed she had a two-week affair with Tom Jones.

As reported by The Daily TelegraphHe claimed he met the 83-year-old singer while interviewing him for a television show in 2000 during his Australian tour.

He referred to the star as a “generous lover.”

In 2019, Fiona said that she has no regrets about leaving Hollywood to pursue a career as a commercial pilot, because she had a greater purpose.

“I became one of those celebrities who say ‘yes’ to everything and attend the opening of an envelope in a desperate attempt to survive and make a living in the entertainment industry,” he said at the time.

“It’s very much a superficial, tough industry, especially in Los Angeles, where the world is going to be famous.”

“When I left Hollywood in 2013, I got a job as a marketing manager for an aviation company and taught yoga and fire dancing at events and resorts for three years to save money to go to flight school and get my commercial qualifications” .

In addition to feeling better than ever at 50, Fiona looks younger and more radiant than ever.

She said the secret to her glow and impressive physique is staying hydrated and incorporating plenty of superfoods into her diet.

‘I drink lots of water. Sometimes a gallon a day (about four liters) when I notice I need more hydration. I divide the water into five doses with an interval of three hours. The last giant glass is at 8pm and no later,” she previously shared.

Their diet consists of organic whole milk yogurt, organic raw cacao nibs, organic honey produced on small farms, hand-harvested salt from the Kalahari Desert, grass-fed whole milk butter, and organic black chai tea.

Also eat a muesli mix of quinoa, oats, chia, flaxseed and hemp seeds, without added sugar.

“They are my staple foods,” he said. “I travel with my good seeds of salt, honey and cocoa.”

The former Triple M presenter, whose career spans three decades, rose to fame with 90s Australian electro-rock band Def FX before starring in US series Mad Mad House.

The author of The Art of the Witch also achieved a world record for skydiving.
