Teen TikToker Jacob Rutkowski Claimed Jacob's Star 'Will Literally Be Here for a Month'

People are predicting the second coming of Jesus after TikTokers claim a Bible prophecy is coming true.

After an asteroid called 2024 PT5 entered Earth’s orbit on September 29, a TikToker named Jacob Rutkowski claimed in a video that the ‘Jacob’s Star’ prophecy was coming true.

The teenager explained that ‘the star’ is the one ‘that the three men who came to see the Messiah saw.’

He said, ‘They literally went to that star and found the Messiah and fell down and worshiped Him.’

But the ‘prophecy’ has divided opinion on TikTok, with users pointing out that the star the three wise men followed is usually known as the Star of Bethlehem.

Some suggested that Jesus himself is the star, while others said that the Star of Jacob is not a literal star but the return of the Messiah.

Jacob seemed to agree with the latter and suggested that the Messiah would come sooner than most Christians believe.

In his viral video, the teenager started crying and said: ‘This star is not just any star. This star shows us that our King will come very soon.

‘I don’t mean hundreds of years, but soon. Coming soon.

‘I just pray that each of you has a repentant heart.

“Just know it’s on the way.”

One user commented: ‘It’s coming! Our King is coming!’

Another said: ‘I saw that star. I’m not lying!’

A TikToker named Julian James posted a video and said, “If you haven’t heard, Jacob’s star just reappeared in the sky.” This star has not been seen for more than 2,000 years since Jesus was born.

‘Is God giving us a sign that Jesus will return soon?’

He also claimed that the Earth was only 6,000 years old.

What is the history of the Star of Jacob?

The Star of Jacob is mentioned in the Bible’s Book of Numbers in verse 24:17.

It centers on Balak, king of Moab, who invokes Balaam, the son of a soothsayer.

The King wants Balaam to curse the Hebrews who were trying to cross the plains of Moab, but instead he decided to bless them when he saw that Yahweh, the God of Israel, was traveling with them.

Later, Yahweh asked a non-Hebrew prophet to give the tribe a prophecy about the birth of the Messiah, to which he said that a star would arise from Jacob (or Israel) and would have royal properties symbolized by the “scepter.”

An excerpt from the verse reads: ‘I see it, but not now; I contemplate it, but not close. A star emerges from Jacob; A scepter rises up from Israel and destroys the forehead of Moab and the foundations of all the children of Seth.’

In other words, the prophet said that an ideal ruler would be born with the ability to act as a God, a King, and a mortal being.

Scholars have attempted to locate any known astronomical phenomena that could have coincided with the birth of Christ and have even wondered whether the Star of Jacob could reappear.

A TikToker named @the.bible.teacher said he thinks he’s not a literal star.

He quoted the Bible and said: ‘Numbers 24:17: I see it, but not now; I contemplate it, but not close.

‘A star is rising from Jacob; A scepter rises up from Israel and destroys the forehead of Moab and the foundations of all the children of Seth.’

The Bible Teacher interpreted this to mean that a star will not appear, but rather a ‘true and righteous king’ will appear.

But some weren’t so convinced and said, “I hate to break it to you, but the star everyone is looking at is just Jupiter.”

Since the Star of Jacob began trending on TikTok, there have been multiple alleged sightings of the biblical phenomenon.

A user from the United Kingdom posted a video of a light shining in the sky, claiming it was the Star of Jacob.

She added the British flag emoji, praying hands emoji, and star emoji to her post.

Another user zoomed in on a star in the sky and said in the caption: ‘Jacob’s Star?’

But one commentator apologized for bursting his bubble and said: ‘This is a star from Sirius.

“We couldn’t see beginnings from years ago because our solar system doesn’t stay in one place and Jacob’s Star is a metaphor.”

Asteroid 2024 PT5 was first detected on August 7 by NASA’s Asteroid Land Impact Last Alert System (ATLAS).

Beginning its journey on September 29, this ‘mini-moon’ will make a single orbit around the Earth before moving to other regions of the solar system.

Researchers tracking the minimoon’s trajectory predict that it will briefly lock onto Earth’s gravitational field until November 25.
