Miranda Cross, the girlfriend of South Sydney Rabbitohs player Cameron Murray, chose a blush pink Velani look that was custom made for her in just three days.

Daring thigh-high slits, plunging necklines and questionable style decisions were on display Wednesday night as wives, girlfriends and athletes stormed the Dally M’s green carpet.

The annual ceremony, which recognizes outstanding performances across rugby league, began with a fashion show of sorts in which guests chose to throw caution to the wind and ignore the gala dress code.

And while each and every one of them had the potential to stand out for all the right reasons, many of them fell victim to poor (and in many cases ignorant) style decisions when they entered the Winx Room at the Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney.

Miranda Cross, the girlfriend of South Sydney Rabbitohs player Cameron Murray, chose a blush pink Velani look that was custom made for her in just three days. The strapless minidress featured a lace underlay that touched the floor.

However, while the outfit was perfectly fine from the front, the structure did little to flatter her enviable figure from any other angle.

Molly Hughes, a teammate of Storm runner Jahrome Hughes, chose a dress in a similar style that barely covered her upper thighs.

Panthers captain Isaah Yeo’s fiancée Ashleigh Camenzuli sparkled as she arrived on the carpet, but oddly opted for a wedding dress-inspired dress that overwhelmed her petite figure.

Beautiful Cronulla Sharks captain Tiana Penitani, who is married to former NRL star Aaron Gray, opted for a tight salmon pink Rick Owens Prong dress, priced at $1760, that hugged her fit figure .

But on this occasion the style did not do it justice and it seemed almost impossible to move with the look, especially considering the length of the event.
