Donald Trump paid $100 for a mother’s grocery shopping in Pennsylvania on Monday.
During a political stop in the front room of a local grocery chain in western Pennsylvania, the former president pulled money from his wallet to help a woman who was checking out with her three children.
“Here,” Trump said as he pulled out a $100 bill and handed it to a customer who was paying at a store.
“It’s going to go down a little bit,” he said of his grocery bill that day. “It just went down $100.”

One of Trump’s biggest campaign promises for 2024 is that he will lower everyday costs for Americans, including gasoline and food prices, amid rising inflation and a faltering economy where most Americans say they are no better off now than when President Joe Biden first took office.
Voters are consistent in ranking the economy and inflation as their number one issue when casting their ballots for president in November.
When the woman at the store confirmed that the three children next to him were his sons, Trump said twice: “Perfect.”
Sprankles Neighborhood Grocery Store in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, received a surprise visit from Trump between his town hall meeting with farmers in Smithton and his rally in Indiana, Pennsylvania, all communities just outside Pittsburgh.
Trump promised the mother that he would lower food prices as president, but that he would do something now to help her by personally giving her $100 toward the bill.

“I’m going to be giving a big speech at 7:00. I know you’re going to be there. I think you’ll like it, I hope you like it. It’s very important,” Trump told reporters who were with him at the supermarket on Monday.
“So, we’re in Pennsylvania, we’re doing a good job, we’re making a lot of stops. I think we’re way ahead. I think we’re way ahead. Kamala doesn’t want fracking, what do you think about that idea?” he continued.
Trump is rallying supporters Monday at a stadium on the campus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
The state is one of seven vital battlegrounds for achieving victory in the November elections.
