Several people injured after bus and truck collide at busy Sydney intersection

Several people have been injured after a bus and a truck collided at a busy Sydney intersection.

The vehicles crashed on the Liverpool-Parramatta carriageway at Wetherill Park, in Sydney’s west, about 5pm on Friday.

The driver’s cab of the truck was crushed and the rear of the bus was severely damaged.

Five people were injured in the accident. A passenger suffered serious leg injuries and is being treated at Liverpool Hospital.

The truck driver and a bus passenger were taken to Fairfield Hospital, police said. Two other male passengers were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The bus driver was not injured.

There are delays on roads in the area.
