The sister of Westfield Bondi Junction stabbing victim Dawn Singleton has revealed how videos of her murdered brother’s laughter have helped her cope with the immense tragedy.
Sally Singleton-Hawach, who along with Dawn, 25, is the daughter of advertising giant John Singleton, paid a heartfelt tribute to her sister, who was one of six stabbing victims of knifeman Joel Cauchi on April 13.
It comes as NSW Premier Chris Minns and state MPs officially paid tribute to the victims of those who lost their lives in this horrific atrocity.
Coogee MP Marjorie O’Neill, whose eastern Sydney electorate encompasses Westfield, was among those who paid an emotional tribute in parliament on Tuesday.
Dawn Singleton, 25, was one of five victims of the knife stabbing of Joel Cauchi at the Bondi Junction shopping center on April 13.
In a social media post, Singleton-Hawach said she shared photos of Dawn growing up and said her sister “embodied love” and ‘He always spoke with words of such kindness… wWith a smile that warmed all our hearts.”
“And I play that laugh over and over again in my videos,” Ms. Singleton-Hawach wrote.
‘You were so loved. I love you sister. Until we meet again.’
Fashion worker Dawn will marry her high school sweetheart, NSW police officer Ashley Wildey, in the coming months.
Before becoming a victim of the stabbing, Dawn had purchased her wedding dress and sent “save the date” invitations to loved ones and friends.
Dawn was one of Singleton’s three daughters from his marriage to Julie Martin.
He has eight children in total.
In the New South Wales Parliament, Ms. O’Neill said the raw shock of the tragedy still resonated in the community where It represents.
“There hasn’t been a day since April 13 that I haven’t met someone who was there during the incident, who normally would have been there at that time,” he said.

“Any one of us could have been shot down, which is why our community stands so strongly behind the victims of this horrific act.”
Family and friends of the stabbing victims watched from the public gallery as Ms O’Neill was among MPs paying tearful tribute to the tragic events.
Neill said that along with the pain, he had seen resilience among his constituents.
“There is more light than darkness in our community,” he said.
Meanwhile, New South Wales MP Marjorie O’Neill, whose electorate of Coogee, in Sydney’s east, encompasses the Bondi Junction shopping centre, has paid a tearful tribute to the stabbing victims.
“In the midst of grief, moments of light have emerged as our community has come together to remember the lives lost.”
Vaucluse MP Kellie Sloan, whose electorate also covers part of the suburb of Bondi, said memories of those lost would be appreciated.
“There was a mother taking her daughter shopping for a birthday gift, a bride-to-be preparing for her wedding, a young mother shopping with her baby and students celebrating the end of exams,” he said.
“A beautiful hope filled lives with so much potential, so cruelly cut short.”
Jade Young, Ashlee Good, Faraz Tahir, Pikria Darchia and Yixuan Cheng also died while Cauchi stalked the shopping complex looking for victims.
There were also 12 people rushed to hospital that day, including nine-month-old Harriet, Mrs Good’s daughter, who lost her life.
