A major incident is unfolding at a major Sydney shopping centre, with reports of a stabbing and at least one gunman on the loose.
Westfield Bondi Junction in Sydney’s eastern suburbs is closed after the incident on Saturday afternoon.
In video posted on social media, terrified people were seen running across the pedestrian bridge outside the centre, while others said they were being evacuated from the centre’s car park.
The police rush to the scene en masse.
Eastern Suburbs local Ted Helliar posted on X: “Something just happened at Westfields Bondi junction.”
‘We were up there and suddenly all these people were running towards us. The next thing was dozens and dozens of people running around screaming, one guy was yelling ‘someone is stabbing everyone, get out of here’.
