Mohammed Kudus has been accused of inappropriate conduct following his red card against Tottenham on Saturday, leaving the striker at risk of an even longer ban.
Kudus saw red in West Ham’s 4-1 defeat after attacking Micky van de Ven and Pape Matar Sarr in the closing stages of the match.
Referee Andrew Madley originally showed the striker a yellow card, but this was upgraded to a straight red in the VAR review.
Kudus kicked Van de Ven twice while the defender was on the ground, then shoved the Spurs man in the face after he got up to confront him.
Despite his teammates’ attempts to retrain him, Kudus also shoved Sarr in the face.

Mohammed Kudus was sent off during West Ham’s defeat to Tottenham on Saturday
Kudus initially received a yellow card for charging at Spurs defender Micky van de Ven.
The 24-year-old has been accused of inappropriate/violent conduct by the Football Association. A statement read: “Mohammed Kudus allegedly acted inappropriately and/or used violent conduct following the offense for which he was expelled.”
Violent conduct offenses carry a minimum three-game ban, but Kudus risks having this increased if his respective charge is confirmed.
The striker is guaranteed to miss games against Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and Everton. The Hammers will then play Newcastle and Arsenal in their two games after the international break.
West Ham and Tottenham have also been accused of failing to control their players.
The statement added: “Tottenham Hotspur allegedly failed to ensure that its players did not behave in an inappropriate and/or provocative manner around the 82nd minute.”
“West Ham United allegedly failed to ensure that its players did not behave in an inappropriate and/or provocative and/or violent manner at the same time.”
The two clubs and Kudus have until Thursday to respond.
Former Premier League referee Mike Dean said after the match that Kudus could “double get” for his two altercations.
Kudus could receive longer suspension after being sent off for violent conduct against Spurs
VAR was used to intervene in the incident, and referee Andrew Madley overturned his original yellow card decision for a red one, sending off Kudus for violent conduct.
Mike Dean says the winger “could do it twice” and receive more punishment
“When you look at the footage, it’s the first one he could have been kicked out for, and I hope that’s the case,” Dean said.
“Hopefully the FA will take retrospective action on the second one, so in my opinion he will be killed twice because he hit two different players in the face on two occasions.”
Joey Barton received a nine-match ban for three separate violent confrontations when he was sent off for Queens Park Rangers against Manchester City in 2012.
