West Ham are lining up Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka as new manager Julen Lopetegui looks to strengthen his right-back options ahead of the Premier League season.

The 26-year-old has made 190 appearances for the Red Devils but the club are reportedly open to selling the full-back to free up funds for a summer spending spree.

Vladimir Coufal was first choice at the London Stadium last season but Lopetegui has his sights set on a revamped Hammers defence, having signed Max Kilman from Wolves for £40m this month.

The growing interest comes after a £13.5m deal for Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui fell through following disagreements from the ‘agent’s side’, forcing Manchester United to swoop in at the last minute.

But any deal for the Bundesliga star would reportedly be dependent on raising funds through the sale of Wan-Bissaka, and United have now reduced their demands to between £10m and £15m, according to sources. Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sport Germany.

There is still no agreement between West Ham and their Premier League rivals, but talks are expected to begin over the weekend.

The English right-back is in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford and has been linked with Galatasaray in recent weeks.

West Ham have made three major signings so far in this transfer window.

Promising youngster Luis Guilherme joined the club from Palmeiras, while goalkeeper Wes Foderingham arrived on a free transfer following his departure from Sheffield United.

But yesterday the east London side “pulled out of the race” to sign Mazraoui despite an agreement already being in place between the clubs.

On Thursday, news broke that the Hammers had agreed a £13.5m fee with Bayern plus £3m in add-ons.

However, the deal fell through because both sides could not come to an agreement on the terms.

That has left the door open for United to push for the Moroccan international as they continue a summer re-signing that has seen Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee pass through the door in recent weeks.

Erik ten Hag, who coached Mazraoui at Ajax between 2018 and 2022, has named the Bundesliga star as one of his top targets.

The Dutch manager is said to be hopeful the full-back can help kick-start Antony’s United career on the right side of the team, having assisted the Brazilian winger on the flank during two title-winning campaigns in the Netherlands.

The 54-year-old still believes the winger can improve his form and justify his £82m price tag, guardian reports.

Mazraoui has made 38 appearances for the German giants since joining in 2022, as well as 28 caps for his national team.
