Lingard helped push the Hammers to a Champions League place, got him a recall for the England squad and caught Solskjaer’s attention.

“Jesse has been brilliant since he left,” Solskjaer said on Thursday ahead of United’s Europa League clash against Granada.
‘Selfishly we could have kept him, because he always has a part to play. Jesse is a great guy around, he’s Man United through and through, and never moaned or caused me a problem. He just came in and worked really hard and he deserved a chance to play more football so we let him go to West Ham because he deserved a chance for what he has done for Man United all his life.
‘We will welcome him again. I hope he will now go to the European Championship with his performances and the confidence he has, I don’t think that’s beyond him, and I hope he has a strong finish in the competition.
‘Then it was different here because Bruno [Fernandes] the form he showed and he arguably played in Jesse’s favorite position and that was just a decision we made. I am very happy for Jesse and wish him all the best for the rest of the season until he returns. ‘

David Moyes is desperate for Lingard with a £ 30 million rating on a permanent basis, but knows that his side must finish in the top four to give himself the best chance to seal his signature.
The Hammers are concerned that the red-hot form of Lingard United could push up its asking price, but have reportedly vowed not to be bullied by them during the negotiations.
United are preparing a £ 80 million package this summer to sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, but Londoners are reluctant to include him in a deal for Lingard, who could still return to Old Trafford after being assured of more playtime.
As reported by Sportsmail on Wednesday, Rice could be interested in a move to United after asking Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw about the club’s details during England’s camp for their World Cup qualifiers last month.
Rice was one of West Ham’s most notable players this season, playing in all but two Premier League games.
