West Ham have held talks about a transfer for Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma.

The smooth Holland international has had another successful season in Spain and attracted a lot of interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, among others.

Reports in Spain claim Villarreal could be willing to sell for around £37.5million, which would be excellent value in today’s market for a 25-year-old who scored 17 goals and impressed in the Champions League last season.

Danjuma is said to provide variety to Moyes’ front lines and has Premier League experience from his time at Bournemouth.

He also registered four assists in all competitions last season and, according to the winger himself, attracted Anfield interest.

The former Bournemouth star also admitted he would ‘consider’ leaving Villarreal if a big move comes along.

Danjuma told the Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sports: ‘I was told that Liverpool were following closely.

“I never had any contact with clubs or anything like that during the season – I always know about the situation after the season.

‘I will never lie and I think it’s a bad quality if you’re not ambitious.

“If there was a club that offered me a higher platform to play sports, I would always have to think about it.”

West Ham manager David Moyes wants around six players this summer, having already added defender Nayef Aguerd, with goalkeeper Alphonse Areola to be confirmed soon.

West Ham have spoken to Chelsea about Armando Broja while an offer is on the table for free agent Jesse Lingard.

Moyes also wants coverage as a fullback and a midfielder. Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse is wanted but finances are expected to extend beyond West Ham.
