The swift striker enjoyed another successful season in Spain, previously attracting interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Reports in Spain have claimed Villarreal would be willing to sell for around £37.5million, a figure that would be good value for the 25-year-old.

Danjuma is said to bring variety to David Moyes’ squad, and he also has the added bonus of Premier League experience, having previously played for Bournemouth.
He scored 17 goals last season and shone in the Champions League.
After also providing four assists in all competitions, the winger has been watched by a number of elite clubs. He confirmed that Anfield characters adored him.

Danjuma previously told the Dutch broadcaster that Ziggo Sports: ‘I was told that Liverpool were following closely.
“I never had any contact with clubs or anything like that during the season – I always know about the situation after the season.
‘I will never lie and I think it’s a bad quality if you’re not ambitious.
“If there was a club that offered me a higher platform to play sports, I would always have to think about it.”
David Moyes was keen to sign six players this summer, with Danjuma on his shortlist
Moyes wants around six players this summer, having already signed defender Nayef Aguerd and goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, following the latter’s successful loan spell.
West Ham, meanwhile, have spoken to Chelsea about striker Armando Broja, while an offer has been made for Jesse Lingard, a free agent after his departure from Manchester United.
They want coverage as a fullback and a midfielder, with Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse. However, finances are expected to rise above them.
