West Bromwich Albion’s Jayson Molumby punched an opponent in the face during a pre-season friendly against Mallorca.
The behind-closed-doors match descended into chaos towards the end of the first half when an argument broke out between Molumby and Mallorca’s Samu Costa.
In a video on RedditMolumby can be seen carrying the ball before being challenged twice, the second time being a foul by Costa.
When the pair reunite, angry words are exchanged, but the fight turns violent when Molumby punches Costa in the face with his forehead.
Costa retaliates by placing a hand on Molumby’s neck, but the 24-year-old Irishman surprisingly decides to clench his fist and punch Costa in the face.

The pair then fall to the ground as teammates rush in to break up the fight.
As it was a friendly match, the referee did not show a red card to any of the players, but Molumby was substituted at half-time.
It remains to be seen whether the club will take any disciplinary action, but the scenes were shocking in the level of violence on display, seemingly coming out of nowhere.
Molumby began his career at Brighton as a member of their academy, before making five senior appearances for the Seagulls.
He spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Millwall and then the second half of the 2020-21 campaign at Preston.

Molumby has since made 103 appearances for the Baggies, recording five goals and five assists in all competitions.
West Brom lost their friendly against Albion 1-0, thanks to a second-half goal from David López.
They have now lost twice in pre-season, against Bolton and Blackpool, and won just once against Peterborough as they prepare for next season’s Championship campaign.
