Robert and Nat (pictured) from Worcester have sent 100 letters to various businesses asking for free gifts for their new home.

A thrifty couple who ordered housewarming gifts from 100 companies were greeted with a welcome surprise from Iceland supermarket.

Robert and Nat from Worcester bought a new home earlier this year but were left with an empty house with minimal items, so they decided to try their luck and turn to large companies to support them with gifts.

Confessing that they had only sent 50 of the 100 letters at the time, the couple joked: “If you don’t ask, you don’t get!”

In a TikTok video Since May, which has racked up more than a million views on Rob’s @robertibus account, the couple revealed their first response was from the British supermarket chain.

Before opening the mysterious cardboard package, Rob said, “This is from Iceland. Thank you so much from Iceland, you are amazing when it comes to frozen food.”

As they opened the box, Nat expressed how “excited” she was by the revelation.

The couple were stunned when they opened the delivery to find a Daewoo dual drawer air fryer, which costs £79.99.

Nat, who was taken aback by the illustrious gift, exclaimed, “Oh my days!” before reading the gift note left by Iceland, which read, “Wishing you all the best in your new home with your new air fryer.”

The mother of two said: “I’ve really wanted an air fryer for a long time. I’m so excited about this. OMG thank you so much Iceland. Right now we literally don’t have a kitchen in our new house so we can just use this to cook.”

Rob added: “It turns out that Iceland is not only great for frozen products, but also, apparently, for air fryers. I would have been happy with the cookies. I’m beyond thrilled.”

Looking at their empty kitchen filled with bright yellow cupboards, they thanked the company as they showed off their new appliance.

People flocked to the comments of the now-viral clip as many curious viewers had a host of questions for the couple.

“Does Iceland even sell this air fryer?” one asked, while another asked, “What did you write in the letters?”

In a pleasant twist of fate, the couple received a Daewood air fryer from Iceland as their first response.

Although many doubted that the couple had received the gift from Iceland, the company itself wrote in the comments: “You’re welcome, guys! Good luck with your new home!”

Several others were keen to congratulate the couple, with one writing: “Omg I love this, so glad it’s working for you, but what a great promotion for Iceland too.”

“This is great. I always work on the principle that you don’t ask, you don’t get. I’m so happy for you,” wrote another.

One user commented: “Really cool. These big companies make a lot of money with higher margins and markups. It’s about time they gave back too!”

“Well done Iceland helping people,” one person added, while another said: “That’s brilliant, well done Iceland for getting involved.”
