An employee in a Wendy’s restaurant was stabbed to death after a fight with a colleague in the kitchen who “escalated and got out of control.”

Police said the man died on the spot after a stab wound to his neck at the branch in Pearl, Mississippi around Thursday evening at 8 p.m.

A second man was arrested on suspicion of murder and detained.

Greg Flynn, a city information officer, told it WAPT on the spot that no other employees or customers were injured, but the employees of the victim were visibly troubled.

He said, “A fight escalated and got out of hand and one of them grabbed a knife.”

Flynn said: “It’s a very sad situation. Two male employees had a fight in the kitchen where they both worked.

“From one thing the other came and one stabbed the other, apparently in the neck.

“Unfortunately the stabbed employee died.”

Flynn added, “It was a very chaotic scene when the officers arrived.”

The names of the two employees have not yet been disclosed.
