Wendy Williams’ former attorney questions the attention the former talk show host has received since she was placed under conservatorship in May 2022.

The 59-year-old has since been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, the same condition as Bruce Willis, 58, which affects her ability to speak, read and write.

The diagnosis was made in 2023, but was revealed recently.

The athlete’s former manager, LaShawn Thomas, shared a video of the DJ while he was still living with his son, Kevin Hunter Jr. Thomas, claiming it was filmed two weeks before the conservatorship forced Wendy to return to New York.

The reality star was sitting on a bed, drinking a smoothie and explaining why she liked going to the gym.

“While Wendy was in Miami with her son, she often witnessed candid moments of mother-son dynamics,” the Miami Entertainment Law Group founder wrote.

“I could tell that he loves his mother very much and, as you can see, the feeling was mutual.”

He went on to explain, “You can clearly see the difference between Wendy’s well-being during her stay here in Florida with her son taking care of her and her lack thereof in New York under this ‘guardianship,'” he said.

The Wendy Williams Experience star was first placed under conservatorship by her bank, Wells Fargo, but conservatorship has since passed to attorney Sabrina Morrissey.

Comparing the Think Like a Man actress’ condition when she was with her son to the fragile person Wendy appears to be now, the lawyer maintained: “These Wendys are not the same.”

Clips from an upcoming Lifetime documentary, which began filming in August 2022, shortly after Wendy was forced to return to New York for conservatorship, show a fragile and erratic woman.

Parts one and two of the film debuted on the network on Saturday. Parts three and four were scheduled to be released on Sunday.

“How did his health deteriorate so quickly and why isn’t his only son allowed to be by his side?” Thomas asked, warning someone to come closer and “ASK THE TOUGH QUESTIONS!”

Attorney LaShawn Thomas posted a video on social media on Sunday. He said it was filmed two weeks before the talk show host had to return to New York for conservatorship.

The lawyer alleged that she had been “threatened with physical and financial harm” if she spoke out about the care Wendy is receiving, but “she simply could not remain silent any longer.”

Although they allowed the documentary to be filmed, Wendy’s guardians went to court two days before the scheduled premiere, seeking to ban the network’s broadcast of Where’s Wendy Williams?

Variety called the series “disturbing and exploitative.”

Comparing the video he recorded with clips from the documentary series Where’s Wendy Williams?, the lawyer said: “These Wendys are not the same.” “How did her health deteriorate so quickly and why is her only son not allowed to be by her side?” she asked.

Although crews were allowed to film the docu-series, Wendy’s guardian went to court to prevent it from airing two days before the February 24 premiere date. Lifetime went ahead and began screening the film, which Variety called “disturbing and exploitative.”

‘While William’s cognitive decline is pronounced here, what is most devastating about Where’s Wendy Williams? “she is the apparent loneliness that she feels,” wrote critic Aramide Tinubu.

“The forced separation from his family, lack of funds and a platform appear to have exasperated his problems.”

After Thomas made her post, many of Wendy’s fans suggested they form a ‘Free Wendy’ movement, inspired by the ‘Free Britney’ movement that helped free the singer from her 13-year conservatorship.

“This is extremely sinister and looks bigger and deeper,” one follower stated. ‘Who is willing and had to fight this machine? “No one deserves this at all.”
