A lucky lottery player has won a major prize for the second time in less than four years.

The man, from Carindale, Brisbane, claimed his million-dollar prize from Monday night’s Weekday Windfall, just a few years after his big win on a Scratch-Its ticket.

“I actually won a $150,000 jackpot with an instant Scratch-Its ticket in 2021 and that was amazing, but $1 million is the next level,” the man told a Lott official.

The lucky punter, who had bought tickets “a long time ago”, was the only winner of the top-tier prize in Monday night’s draw.

“I never thought this day would come,” he said.

When the man was asked how he would spend his million-dollar windfall, he revealed that home renovations were at the top of his list.

“The house needs a good coat of paint. That’s where we’ll start,” he said.

“It will really help us give the house some TLC.”

The lucky winner’s 18-game QuickPick ticket was purchased from Nextra Carindale News at their local Westfield.

Kiosk manager Tracy Renwick was “happy” the shop had sold the lucky ticket to a regular customer.

“We are always very happy when one of our customers wins a great prize, especially when it is a regular customer who continues to support us,” he said.

“This shows that dreams can come true. We are very pleased that they have made an unexpected profit.”
