Watch out, young aspiring Goths – your new queen may be given another role to cement her as master of the macabre.
According to the Hollywood reporter, Wednesday‘s Jenna Ortega could reunite with Tim Burton and star Beetle juice 2. This would be the sequel to the 1988 film starring Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton. The original Beetle juice followed Lydia (Ryder), a melancholic and uptight teenage girl, who moves into a house haunted by a young deceased couple. After some shenanigans, she and the couple (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) eventually summon a mischievous demon named Beetlejuice (Keaton).
Rumor has it that Ortega could play Lydia’s daughter. Keaton would also return, with Burton directing. While there is already talk of a sequel to Beetle juice for years none have manifested themselves. Instead, the film got a spin-off animated series and a musical.
In addition to WednesdayOrtega also plays along Scream 6the latest film in the slasher franchise, now only in theaters.
