Makeup artist Kexiah, owner of luxury hair and makeup business The Key Look, worked at a wedding in New York in early September, where she and her team did the hair and makeup for a bride and her bridesmaids.

However, the wedding ended in tears after the wedding planner asked Keziah to leave and the newlyweds told her they felt the makeup artist had overstayed her welcome, only for her to return moments later and continue filming.

“I was so excited about the content we would get for her that I kept filming,” Kexiah shared in a video. “I also wanted some behind-the-scenes footage to share on our social media.”

The makeup artist added that the bride told her she was hiring a content creator for her wedding, so she “made the decision” to stay all day and film the content, something that social media users have deemed unacceptable.

Kexiah, who said in the videos she was “vibing” with the bridal party and didn’t think there was any problem, said makeup artists had been hired for two extra hours to do touch-ups for photos at the wedding venue.

“She was fully made up and happy,” the makeup artist said.

“I had everyone laughing all morning,” he said. “There was literally not a dull moment all day.”

Kexiah said: ‘Everyone kept telling me to stay for the wedding because it would be so much fun and bring a lot of good energy.

“I told them I don’t know when I’m going to leave, but we have an appointment scheduled to go there. I also told them I’ll continue filming,” she shared.

According to Kexiah’s account, at the reception she had tried to get some footage of the bride and groom when he got angry and said he didn’t want her to film TikToks.

“I was the content creator and coordinator at their wedding on September 6th. I have never been so frustrated with a wedding vendor in my life,” she shared.

One comment, reportedly from a bridesmaid on the original video, read: “Again, this is CRAZY. To have this content posted, on top of your disrespectful story about my best friend’s wedding, AND to delete comments is CRAZY!”

“The bride is actually my sister. It’s a disgrace that you posted this,” read another comment. “If you need to deal with the situation, don’t use someone else’s wedding to do it.”

“Oh my god it was so hard to watch them, HE CRIED FOR THE BRIDE!!! She’s a stranger to them,” one user fumed.

‘As a makeup and hair artist, I stay to take some getting ready photos of the bride and then leave. I may stay to help put on the veil after she’s already in the dress, but again I leave immediately after.

“She’s not good at reading social cues,” argued another. “I doubt anyone explicitly told her to ‘stay’. Instead, they were polite about her presence and she took that to mean everyone was having a great time with her.”
