Another cold weekend has hit New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Canberra, with some rain to confirm the proper arrival of winter.

The Bureau of Meteorology says areas of low pressure that have been located along the Tasman Sea all week will continue to bring cold southerly winds along Australia’s east coast on Saturday.

“It will be another cool and frosty weekend in many areas,” warned meteorologist Angus Hines.

‘On Saturday, those winds will bring some rain to eastern Victoria and the New South Wales coast.

“On the other side of the country we have a cold front arriving in Perth early on Saturday morning… a spell of showers with a possible thunderstorm, perhaps a bit of hail and some cold, gusty winds.”
