Two people were rescued from flash floods with heavy rains on the east coast as wild conditions continued for the next four days.
People were rescued by emergency services after they were stranded in their cars along Botany Road in Waterloo and Alexandria, in Sydney’s inner south suburbs, on Sunday.

Sydney train commuters also got off to a rocky start with flooding on the tracks disrupting services from Sydenham to Lidcombe.
Commuters have also been told to avoid Lewisham West Inner Station as there is flooding on the Underground.
Motorists in Sydney have been warned to exercise extreme caution due to wet roads and poor visibility.
NSW SES says that with heavy rains heading north, residents should not travel through floodwaters as well as move away from streams and storm drains.
They also advise people to stay indoors, away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors.
Temperatures in Sydney dropped to -16C on Sunday morning as torrential rain battered the New South Wales capital with more expected over the next four days.
“It rained up and down the New South Wales coast and pushed into the southeastern parts of Queensland on Sunday,” Sky News meteorologist Rob Sharp said.
Showers are moderate, he said, “It might feel heavy if you’re outside.”
“It will also be a daily event, up and down the East Coast Monday through Wednesday,” he said.

The northern coast of New South Wales and down to Sydney is likely where the bulk of this weather will be.
Warning of a severe thunderstorm in the central coast, with fears of flash floods in the coming hours.
Heavy rains are expected in Gosford, The Entrance and Woy Woy.
More than 60 mm have been recorded in Mount Kinkamper Reservoir in a one hour period this morning.
Brisbane also experienced heavy rain on Sunday with light winds expected to become southeasterly at 15 to 20 km/h around midday.
Rain is expected in the city until it clears up a bit on Wednesday, however, forecasters expect the rains to return by Friday.
And while Melbourne is a bit cloudy on Sunday, the sun is expected to set at the start of the week with a high of 26°C on Tuesday.
Some rain is expected later in the week.
Summer temperatures remained high in Adelaide with a high of 28C expected in the city on Tuesday.
However, some rain is expected on Wednesday.
Those in Perth are likely to hit the beach on Sunday when the mercury is expected to reach 27°C.
