Julius Pablo, 27, and his partner Raquel Robes, 31, are delighted with the recent purchase of his property.
The couple threw roots in a newly built two -room apartment in Slough, after having paid £ 425,000 for the property.
In December, a Rightmove investigation found that Slough was classified as the most miserable place to live in Britain.
But Julius and Raquel firmly reject this evaluation of Slough and urge possible buyers to consider strong transport connections, the convenient facilities and the green spaces of the city.
Speaking to this is Money, Julius, an analyst of the supply chain, and Raquel, a teacher, said: “We could not allow ourselves to live in London, but when expanding the network, we ran into Horlicks Quarter in Slough.
“As for the location, Slough is brilliant, since it has excellent transport connections with London through the Elizabeth Line, as well as with Heathrow, and is much more affordable.”
Buyers for the first time: Julius Pablo, 27 years old, left, and his partner Raquel Robes, 31 years old, right, love to live in Sloough.
They add: ‘We have bought an apartment in the old Horicks factory in the city center, just a few minutes walk from the station and nearby commercial parks and supermarkets, which is very convenient.
“Slough is also one of the most green cities in the United Kingdom, which means that we are very lucky to be able to choose between nine different parks a few minutes by car.”
Before deciding on Slough, the couple looked for properties in the north and western London, but found them unasquibles.
The property of the couple in Slough is in an old factory converted into 52 apartments.
Julius and Raquel enjoy living in the “peculiar” block that, as they suggest, combines the story with modern final touches.
They especially like the community roof, the film room, the gym, the game room, the work area and the block cafeteria.
The couple said: ‘From the beginning we prefer a new construction apartment with two bedrooms, since we wanted to avoid having to do any renewal work.
“We also like the contemporary design of the new constructions, which often include intelligent home technology and open plant designs.”

Open Plan: Julius and Raquel chose to live in an open plan in their Sloough apartment
Julius’s sister and her partner came to see the block and they liked it so much that they also ended up buying a property property.
Before moving to Horlicks Quarter, Julius lived with his family in Uxbridge and Raquel rented a shared house of a bedroom near the Finchley Central Metro station in London, paying £ 1,000 a month for rent and invoices.
Julius said: ‘Our decision to buy a property together was promoted by personal and financial motivations.
‘We wanted to have our freedom and the opportunity to start generating value in our own property, instead of spending money for rent. We had spent several years accumulating our savings.
He added: ‘We finance the purchase with our savings and hiring a mortgage.
‘The savings that we had accumulated over the years allowed us to make a solid deposit of 10 percent, and the promoter, Berkeley, added an additional 5 percent. This helped reduce the amount we needed to borrow.
‘With a 15 percent deposit, several banks offered us competitive types. In the end we opted for a five -year fixed type mortgage with Lloyds, with an interest rate of 4.69 percent. ‘
In December, David Arfield, manager of Cameron King Estate Agents in Cippenham, Sloough, told This Is Money: “While the city center of Slough needs revitalization and investment, as well as other urban centers such as Bracknell, he has There have been important development that occurs on the outskirts of the city center.
He added: “The perception of Slough as it is portrayed in the series ‘The Office’ may still last in the minds of the people, but the in progress are remodeling the image of the city.”
The real estate agent said that the most wanted properties in Slough were houses of two to four bedrooms aimed at first -time buyers, buyers who sought to expand their size or people who moved to the area.
