An innovative couple has embarked on an ambitious journey to transform an outdated house into a dream apartment, with remarkable results.

The Rowlands purchased the semi-detached property in July 2022 and have documented their progress on its renovation on TikTok.

The house, located in an unknown location in the United Kingdom, had remained largely untouched since it was originally built in the 1960s, with outdated features still present throughout the house.

What was once an antiquated home frozen in time is now an elegant, contemporary abode located in the heart of its neighborhood.

On their TikTok page, @rowlandrenos, the couple posted a series of video updates as they knocked down walls, ripped out fixtures, and replaced floors and furniture.

The room had rust red couches, cream walls, wooden furniture, a brass lampshade, a maroon and navy patterned rug, and a brown tiled fireplace.
In a brilliant conversion, the room is replaced with neutral decor, including a plush gray corner sofa, a cream rug, a flat-screen TV, a media wall, pine floors, wicker baskets and pampas flowers.

The most dramatic room makeover in the couple’s home includes the living room, which went from boring and dated to fresh and stylish in a stunning makeover.

Other video shows the gradual transformation of the kitchen area, which was originally painted an unsightly mint green and fitted with cream and brown cabinets, as well as a 1950s-style green and white tiled floor.

Footage shows a partition being knocked down to open up the space, before the back door is bricked up to allow for an open kitchen, and the couple claim there were already double doors on the ground floor leading to the garden.

After rewiring the electricity that ran throughout the house and applying layers of plaster, the kitchen was painted white to brighten the space.

Pine floors and minimalist white units were then installed, topped with light gray marble worktops and finished with gold handles attached to drawers and cupboards.

Contrasting black appliances such as a microwave, kettle, toaster and electric stove were placed on top of the counters, as well as artificial plants and decorative flowers.

The kitchen had originally been painted an unsightly mint green, but was transformed into a sleek, open space equipped with modern appliances and fixtures.

The dated maroon carpeted floor is replaced with light gray granite tiles, while the bright red plastic bathtub is transformed into a spacious tiled tub equipped with matte black faucets and shower head.
The round red porcelain sink becomes a rectangular-shaped basin, fitted with pine wood panels, while decorative elements such as artificial plants in white vases are placed on the windowsill to add depth and color to the room.

Meanwhile, the bathroom has been converted into a stylish and spacious space after the entire room was originally designed in a disconcerting blood red style.

It comes after the couple previously reported finding a number of strange features and items throughout the house shortly after purchasing it.

The Rowlands documented their discoveries, including the lack of insulation on the wood facing of their walls and the wallpaper on the ceiling.
